Luc Messinezis will perform a lecture for the “Global Composition 2012” World Soundscape Conference in Dieburg, Germany.
His presentation investigates exploiting the soundscape for artistic purposes through an existentialist philosophical scope where the aural reality is treated as an autonomous field of study and its elements as independent entities with unpredictable behavior.
The lecture introduces the terms “Aural entity” and “Conceptual Listening” as tools to creating original sonic hyper-real artworks.
A paper titled “Audiopsy; Jerusalem: An existentialist approach to exploiting the soundscape for artistic purposes” will be published as part of the conference’s proceedings.
